Praying For The Community: The Erewash Valley Project
A few years ago the Holy Spirit brought together six ministers, all from different denominations
including Elim, and birthed in our hearts a desire to pray for revival to sweep the length of the Erewash
Valley. The valley starts in Kirkby-in-Ashfield and finishes in Sawley, Long Eaton where the river
joins the Trent. Ilkeston is situated in the middle of the Valley.
All the towns and the inhabitants of the Erewash Valley are prayed for constantly and in a variety of ways.
One church hosts a 6.30am joint prayer meeting that has been running daily for over six years.
About a dozen church leaders meet monthly, with monthly prayer breakfasts and occasional Valley
celebrations, with guest speakers like Stewart Bell, R.T.Kendal and Rob Warner, to mark our unity and
desire for transformation.
The Elim Church has been praying into various nations as part of our corporate times of prayer on Sunday
mornings. Part of our thinking has always been with Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the ends of the Earth:
or in our case, Ilkeston, Erewash Valley, the East Midlands, the Nation and beyond.
